MyPerfectRent is an online tool designed to bring tenants and landlords together. The site offers numerous tools to help users refine their search for the perfect living space. My Perfect Rent also claims to assist landlords in finding reliable, quality tenants. Users can use many tools, including a price and location search filter function and streaming recent additions right on the homepage. MyPerfectRent currently only covers California communities, but more are going to be added in the future.

Based out of San Francisco, California, MyPerfectRent was created by iRisq. iRisq is a privately owned company that was formed in 2008. The company’s focus is on helping improve the residential rental process through simplification, acceleration and cost decreasing. iRisq hopes to make the process easier for all involved, from the tenant to the landlord or property manager. MyPerfectRent has helped iRisq achieve its goal and help tenants and landlords find one another.

MyPerfectRent gives users a better alternative to searching classified advertisements (or posting them). By implementing numerous tools, such as search filters, listings, and user profiles, the site has made it much easier for tenants and landlords to connect. By focusing on residential real estate, MyPerfectRent caters to a very large market in a way that works.

MyPerfectRent has a very pleasant design that includes colorful graphics that are playful, but in a mature way. The layout is very well organized and easy to use. New visitors can easily access the search function and navigate MyPerfectRent. The site stands out in its great organization, appealing design, and dedication to the residential rental market.

A visitor that would like to create a MyPerfectRent account can do so by clicking the orange “Sign Up” link at the top right hand corner of the homepage. The registration form asks for a first and last name, email address, optional phone number, preferred move date, and reason for joining the site (if the user is a tenant or looking for tenants). After entering a password and doing a Captcha code verification, the user can click the orange “Sign Up” button at the bottom of the form. After creating an account, the user is logged in. Adding a little personal touch, the site adds the user’s name just before the MyPerfectRent logo.

Creating a MyPerfectRent account and browsing available locations costs nothing. Users do not have to pay a monthly fee or anything like that. However, there is some cost involved if the user plans to list a property or try and obtain a lease with a landlord. If a landlord asks for an online reference check, the potential tenant may be charged up to $20. After a listing has found a tenant, the landlord is charged about $60. Listings also require a $1 Paypal authorization to publish property listings.

Landlords, property managers and tenants looking for a new place in California can appreciate MyPerfectRent. Unfortunately, the site is rather new and currently only serves neighborhoods in California. Eventually, this will expand and make MyPerfectRent a better option for many others. The fees may seem a little steep as well, but they help screen tenants and landlords, leaving behind only those that are serious about renting.
